Florentin Godard, fondeur
Fils et petit-fils de mouleur, Florentin Godard naît à Paris en 1877. Il ne constituera pas de société et réalisera des fontes aidé d’un seul ouvrier, certaines signées, d’autres non. On peut lui attribuer les fontes Godard antérieures à 1918, date de création de l’entreprise par son frère Désiré.
Florentin Godard réalise en 1909 la monumentale Méditerranée de Maillol qui sera offerte par l’artiste à la ville de Perpignan, puis par la suite L’Été et La Flore (1912, Musée Pouchkine) et Le Coureur Cycliste (1923) actuellement au Musée d’Orsay.
Florentin Godard travaillera avec Joseph Bernard ; Brancusi (3 pièces après 1924) ; Matisse ? (5 fontes à cire perdue des années 1920-1925, sans marque).

L’imprimerie Masure
Rue Daguerre, au cœur du XIVe arrondissement de Paris, se trouve l’imprimerie fondée par Jean Masure et continuée par son fils Maxime Masure qui fut aussi relieur-brocheur.
En 1964 Adrien Maeght rachète l’imprimerie Masure & fils qui prendra le nom d’imprimerie Arte, travaillant pour les grands artistes du XXème siècle Bazaine, Braque, Chagall, Chillida, Giacometti, Miro, Picasso, Riopelle, Ubac …

Florentin Godard, Art caster
Son and grandson of a moulder, Florentin Godard was born in Paris in 1877. He did not form a company and made casts with the help of one single worker, some were signed, some were not. We can give him credit for all the Godard casts that were made prior to 1918, when his brother Désiré founded the company.

Masure Printing House
On Rue Daguerre, in the heart of the 14th arrondissement of Paris, is the printing house founded by Jean Masure. It was then taken over by his son Maxime Masure, who was also a bookbinder.
In 1964, Adrien Maeght bought the Masure & fils printing house, which took the name of Arte printing house. They worked for the great artists of the XXth century : Bazaine, Braque, Chagall, Chillida, Giacometti, Miro, Picasso, Riopelle, Ubac…
